Day Webster are currently recruiting for experienced Band 5 Recovery Workers to join a well-established drug and alcohol service. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone passionate about harm reduction, recovery, and making a real impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals.

About the Role

You’ll be working within a structured treatment pathway, supporting service users accessing OST and other prescribed interventions. You will hold your own caseload, deliver one-to-one and group interventions, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support people through their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide harm reduction advice around safer drug use, safer sex, and blood-borne virus (BBV) awareness including HIV and Hepatitis A, B and C.
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 45 clients as a dedicated key worker.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, create and review care plans, and manage onward referrals.
  • Support nurse prescribers during prescribing clinics.
  • Deliver a range of structured psycho-social interventions including CBT-based techniques, solution-focused therapy and motivational enhancement.
  • Plan and facilitate group work sessions.
  • Provide needle exchange support in line with harm reduction principles.
  • Work collaboratively with safeguarding, mental health, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support.
  • Encourage and empower service users throughout their recovery, including supporting transitions away from maintenance treatment when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in substance misuse services is essential.
  • Strong understanding of harm reduction and psycho-social interventions.
  • Confident working with a busy caseload and supporting complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to start ASAP.
