Deputy Team Manager (Social Work):
The role will be initially for 3 months and may be extended - pending permanent recruitment.

An exciting locum opportunity has arisen to work in Southwark Adult Social Care. We are looking for experienced, autonomous and motivated Deputy Team Managers (Social Worker) who wants to make a real difference. We are offering competitive rates of pay, a supportive, friendly work environment and an Induction into the role. The role does not expect you to carry a caseload, but you will be expected to support staff where necessary, for example to complete joint visits.
There are roles available within the Assessment & Intake Team and Case Management Team. We are an integrated physical disabilities community team comprising of Social Work, Occupational Therapy and Sensory Services staff.
You will manage Social Work and OT staff to complete the following:
• Care Act Assessments for packages of care
• Carers assessments
• Urgent assessments for care and respite
• Assessments for placements in residential and nursing homes
• Joint CHC/DSTs with nurse assessors
• Completion of MCA’s and Adult Safeguarding long and short-term.
There is no Duty function in the team and support/supervision is provided. A minimum of 4 years social care experience is expected and experience of managing staff is essential.
About the role:
Main duties will be:
• To provide robust supervisory and management support. Give oversight to social workers and social worker assistant practitioners to ensure high quality services are delivered.
• To provide clear casework direction and management oversight of cases with guidance and support to the team in developing and maintaining high standards.
• To work with managers on the performance of the service and staff.
• To assist in managing a proactive and resourceful team that assist people to have choice and control have more control over their needs and how they want to be supported.
• To promote Strength Based working in ASC and with CVS partners.
• To support managers with service development, safeguarding, professional supervision, etc.
