Senior practitioner CIN (Children in Need) – Long-term Family Intervention Team:

Essential – Applicants with experience supervising social work staff only
This is a non case-holding, supervisory social work role in the long-term CIN team.
The successful candidate would be responsible for supervising a pod of four social workers.
An experienced senior practitioner is required to supervise and co-ordinate the work of a social work pod within the Children in Need Service. Making appropriate use of resources to ensure the provision of a high quality, comprehensive and effective service to children and families arising out of the Council's duties and powers under legislation and regulations, Council and Departmental policies and procedures.
To be considered for one of these exciting opportunities the successful candidates will have detailed working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and standards in the Children and Young families area, accompanied by supervisory experience or other relevant management experience and training. Additionally you will have strong written and verbal communication skills with a diverse range of professionals is essential whilst also possessing excellent analytical skills. You will also have a sound understanding of safeguarding, care proceedings and court work.
