Worthing Community Social Work Team supports customers with care and support needs from age 18 upwards. We cover Worthing area only. We receive referrals from various parties including GPs, neighbours, physiotherapists, relatives and customers themselves. Our customers care and support needs can originate from physical disability, medical conditions, frailty, organic and functional mental health conditions, the effects of adverse life situations and deprivation on emotional and mental wellbeing and also Safeguarding issues, including self neglect.
As a Senior Social Work Practitioner, you will:
Work as part of a strong and dynamic social work service with clear professional leadership.
Improve the lives of people with disabilities and their families to enjoy valued, meaningful lives in their local community.
You will be required to undertake strengths-based assessments in highly complex situations.
You will maintain a sophisticated understanding and application of relevant legislation, advanced social work skills and knowledge.
You will utilise your skills to develop and implement effective plans of support aimed at improving wellbeing and delivering better outcomes for people. as well as contributing to and developing skills in safeguarding.
You will have a role in improving the practice of unregistered and registered social care practitioners and developing, leading, and championing best practice and professional standards.
You will advise others and facilitate access to and dissemination of more specialist advice where necessary to further develop capability and professional confidence.
You will be supported with professional supervision and a workload that is appropriate to
your level of professional development.
