We are currently looking for Social Workers experienced in working in Adult social care for various areas across the Devon County Council footprint for a three month placement. This is with the possibility that there might be potential for extending or other opportunities within Devon Adult Social Care. As an agency worker in Devon County Council you will receive regular supervision and an open-door approach from Team Managers. The teams have regular formal Team Meetings, more informal wellbeing huddles/catch-ups and group supervision opportunities. The Social Workers will be supporting vulnerable adults from a range of backgrounds and needs – mental health, physical disability, learning disability, sensory impairments. The work might encompass completing Community Deprivation of Liberty Assessments, Care Act Assessments, reviews, commissioning care, safeguarding work, undertaking Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interest decisions. This work is required to support teams with an increase in workload, to reduce wait times and respond in a timely way to mitigate risks. The worker will need to be able to demonstrate COVID safe working awareness, support and guidance will be provided. The role will be covering Devon which offers the opportunity to work within large, populated areas, coastal areas and rural communities depending on location. We need full and/or part time experienced social workers who can complete face to face visits in Devon (there are set rates for accommodation and travel which Devon County Council will pay). We offer a flexible approach to work and place great importance on wellbeing. Devon County Council is currently operating a hybrid model where workers can work from home but will be required to come into the office on agreed days during the week, minimum 2 days required. Knowledge of the Care First 6 system an advantage but not essential.
