Central Bedfordshire Council is excited to offer the rare and exciting opportunity for a Social Worker role within our Children Service’s Leaving Care Service. In Central Bedfordshire we want to assist children and young people to grow up safely, achieve more, and be happy and healthy. Children’s Services at Central Bedfordshire Council was been awarded social work ‘employer of the year’ alongside having been graded a ‘Good’ at our last OFSTED inspection.
This opportunity within the Leaving Care Service. This post will require the holder to travel to meet our Looked After Children and Care Leavers wherever they are placed, for the majority of our young people this is within Bedfordshire and our neighbouring Local Authorities, with a few of our children and young people placed more widely. Central Bedfordshire offers the ability to work agilely and has the most up to date technology that supports agile working. Within the Leaving Care Service there are 3 teams.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to develop their practice in the area of Leaving Care, working closely with our older Looked After Young People and Care Leavers, providing them with information, support, guidance and advice, assisting them to make positive choices for their future. As Corporate Parents we are highly aspirational for our young people ensuring they are happy, healthy, safe and achieving to their best ability.
