Job Description : In this exciting opportunity, your role will include promoting knowledge of your specialism and representing social work to other disciplines /agencies. You will also assist in fulfilling established quality assurance standards, targets and working together with managers to promote improvements in practice standards. You will be expected to provide an accountable statutory social work service to those people who access or need the service to include assessment, planning and review Your responsibility will also include partnership working, day to day assessment of new referrals, caseload management, work with families and carers, working with clients in crisis whilst managing risk, adult safeguarding and working within the SDS framework; whilst promoting knowledge of their specialism and representing social work to other disciplines /agencies. You will also assist in fulfilling established quality assurance standards, targets and working together with managers to promote improvements in practice standards. You will remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation and adhere to organisational procedures, policies and codes of conduct as well as Social Work England professional standards in order to uphold a high-quality, seamless service. You will be expected to work within organisational, policy and legislative requirements. To be qualified for this role, you will demonstrate relevant theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of social work, and have a good, up-to-date working knowledge of legislation relevant to the specialist area of the post e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act. You will have a good understanding of the necessity of working with partnership agencies including health, housing, learning, statutory, voluntary and independent sector. You will also understand the therapeutic interventions that can be used e.g. solution focused, systemic and evidence-based programmes and an excellent understanding of partner agencies. You will undertake continued professional development and maintain records of your training in line with Social Work England requirements. You will be required to travel throughout the County, including to locations that are not always easily accessible by public transport. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.
