Social Worker - CMHT

Location Bradford-on-Avon
Salary £19 - £30 per hour
1. Progress to practice effectively, exercising higher quality judgements in situations of increasing, complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge. Through growing understanding to expect and anticipate, but do not pre-judge, the issues that may develop. To have greater confidence and independence; while accessing support when needed, and use initiative to broaden repertoire of responses; to have expertise in one or more areas of practice, be familiar with local resource networks and be recognised by peers as a reliable source of knowledge and advice.
2. Undertake preventative work with service users to diminish safeguarding concerns. Act as investigating officer within the West Yorkshire Safeguarding procedures.
3. To provide a social work service to individuals, their families and carers by assessing and identifying their needs and meeting them through direct therapeutic work, care planning and management. Able to integrate a theoretical approach with evidenced based practice. Manage a caseload, exercising decision making in line with professional criteria and making sure that case work is appropriately planned, critically evaluated and reviewed
4. Identifying & facilitating appropriate options for service users to meet needs ensuring the best use of existing universal and specialist resources, and demonstrate innovation with these resources where appropriate.
5. To assist in the development of new resources and work on specialist projects.
6. To regularly maintain accurate, concise and purposeful records of work in line with departmental policy on access to files and recording in a timely manner.
7. Give evidence to court and other relevant bodies as required, including evidence in court in proceedings including the presentation of reports and application of appropriate legal orders.
8. To participate continuously in professional development activities, including regular supervision and appraisal, in line with registration and Social Work England standards.
9. To act in accordance with the priorities and policies of the Department. Actively promote and support Council policies on Equality and working in an anti oppressive manner.
10. Independently manage own workload seeking support and investigating solutions for workload difficulties.
11. Work in partnership with other agencies and organisations in line with the responsibility outlined above, in order to fulfil the provisions of a social work service. Maintain contact with a wide range of statutory and voluntary sector professionals for information exchange, the exercise of judgement and in order to influence outcomes in case planning and decision making. To contribute to multi disciplinary assessments and participate in planning meetings.
12. Facilitate consultation, partnership & participation with service users.
13. Apply social work ethical principles and values to guide your professional practice and decision making including partnership with service users. Demonstrate confident application of ethical reasoning to professional practice, rights and entitlements, questioning and challenging others using a legal and human rights framework.
14. Provide support and mentoring for newly qualified staff and volunteers as required. Contributing to and promote the development of practice, taking the initiative to test new approaches & contribute to the learning of others.
