A rare opportunity has risen for a locum social worker to join Southwark’s Keeping Families Together (KFT) team to cover a staff absence for a period of 3-6 months.
KFT is a multidisciplinary edge-of-care team providing intensive multimodal interventions to a small number of families where an adolescent is at risk of coming into care or is in care with a plan to rehabilitate home.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and creative social worker who is able to draw from a range of interventions and skills to help families harness their own resources to solve their difficulties. We use an intervention model called STAIRS and will provide training in this model at the start of the placement – the candidate will need to be a confident and quick learner.
Training or experience in any of the following would be a bonus: systemic practice; parenting interventions including NVR; any therapeutic/psychologically informed approaches; work with adolescents, young offenders and/or extra familial harm.
The post allows for hybrid home/office based working, however the role requires a high level of direct work so the candidate will likely be in Southwark borough most days and will be expected to be office based every Wednesday for group supervision.
