Youth Justice & Exploitation Service (YJES) are developing a ground-breaking, specialist, multi-agency service built on existing expertise and developing new ways of working.

To work as part of a specialist, multi-agency team to tackle exploitation faced by children up to the age of 18 The exploitation could include children who are being exploited and/or offending and/or at risk of offending and/or who are victims of crime.

To work collaboratively with partners and other teams in Children, Education and Families and adv ise and consult on youth justice and/or exploitation matters as required and to provide direct interventions where appropriate. 


The service integrates Youth Justice Service, Child Exploitation/Missing, Police Intelligence Teams and a multi - disciplinary team comprising, Youth Justice and Exploitation Practitioners.

The service area covers the Council's statutory responsibilities for adolescents and young people where there is risk to the public, youth offending, risk outside of the home; including those in need of protection, at risk of/subject to significant harm, and adolescents coming into care, including work under the PLO and legal proceedings in the court.


 
The work will be carried out in accordance with the statutory framework and relevant legislation, Youth Justice Board Guidance and minimum standards and in partnership with relevant colleagues.
