Duty & Assessment
The team undertakes direct work child and family assessments, child in need assessments (Single
Assessments) and child protection assessments (Section 47’s) using a range of child and adult
tools to enhance our analyses, to support change for families and to problem solve and design
short-, medium- and long-term interventions. The use of Motivational Interviewing (MI) is
encouraged, the team work closely with Housing and Welfare and there is access to the Family
Safeguarding adult workers to enhance assessments where needed.
