Social Worker - Children Pre-Birth Team

Location Wrexham
Salary £20 - £22 per hour
Discipline
The Local Authority are looking to recruit two experienced social workers to work specifically with the targeted area of pre birth.

There needs to be an integrated approach to the health and wellbeing of children and their families throughout universal services to maximise prevention and promote resilience at the earliest stage.

New evidence on the multiple impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences can bring more awareness and support towards preventing them and minimising their effects.

Provision of intensive and timely parenting support is needed to break cycles of inappropriate parenting, to increase resilience and raise parents’ confidence in their skills to raise their children in a positive and nurturing environment.

It is envisaged that throughout the period of pre birth support services can be front loaded to the parents and assessments can be carried out at the earliest opportunity alongside Health and other agencies to identify risk and additional needs.
The aim of the project is to reduce the number of babies being removed at birth. During this current Covid pandemic home working is encouraged as much as possible in line with policy and guidance.
