Social Worker - Children Looked After Team

Location West Sussex
Salary £36.00 - £38.50 per hour

Location: Durban House, Bognor Regis
Duty : two days a month but we also provide a back up in case someone is ill or a Covid related absence which is 1 day a month. Duty does not need to be office based.
Essential to be able to drive around West Sussex to fulfil the job requirement.
Caseloads are about 18 children
Team structure is: two teams working with looked after children. We have another team attached who work with asylum seeking children. Managers have 5 - 6 in each team.
Payrate : We are bound by the MoC, which means pay rates are capped. Whist we are able to pay up to £42, this rate is for those deemed to be at ASW level. Please ensure your candidates are aware that the pay rate they request may not be the rate they are offered; managers are assessing skills and competency at interview. If the candidate is being offered less than requested, we will make the reasoning clear whilst providing feedback.
About the Team In the children looked after service there is the opportunity to build relationships with children and young people over a period of time in order to help them settle, make sense and recover from their experiences and look forward to their future. In our service there is an emphasis on the importance of direct work and developing and exercising these skills. We have a stable management team who have been working hard on our improvement journey over the last 3 years. We are keen to build a culture that is supportive and containing for our social workers to enable them to offer the care and containment our children need. We want to hear from social workers who know the difference a trusting relationship can make and want to work creatively to capture the voice of children and can work with.
The candidate needs: - To be an experienced worker with at least 2/3 years CLA experience. - Recent Front line – child protection work - Good assessment skills that are able to identify risk - Direct work with children to be able to identify their needs - Good multi agency working experience
