Social Worker -Children in Need

Salary £30.57 - £32.87 per hour
Main Duties / Accountabilities
1. Case responsibility for complex, high risk and high-profile work within the Service.
2. Support social workers to be able to apply systems and ecological approaches to their work with families.
3. Use own expertise to support the development of social workers skills to undertake progressively complex and varied casework, increasing their autonomy as they progress and incorporating systemic and ecological approaches and theoretical bases.
4. Deliver best practice seminars and be lead professionals for panels
5. Together with social workers, work collaboratively within multi-agency networks to promote positive outcomes for children and their families.
6. Ensure that social workers adhere to the Borough’s Child Protection and PLO procedures.
7. Develop and review Personal Development Plans in collaboration with social workers
8. Ensure that any performance issues are raised with the relevant manager
9. Lead and supervise up to four social workers, to agreed national and local standards.
10. Facilitate meetings to incorporate systemic thinking, peer challenge and critical reflection.
11. Have some supervisory responsibility for case management with up to 4 social workers.
12. Develop leadership qualities through practice, encouraging participants to work in partnership with families and professional networks towards a common goal, and to work effectively with conflict.
13. Provide support in the management of the service as requested, and where necessary deputise for the deputy team manager when required.
