We are looking for a Principle Social Worker in our Professional Concerns Team.
Duties of the post will include:
• Supporting the service manager in undertaking s5 strategy discussions with PPU and other LA LADOs/DOS in relation to cross boundary issues
• Attending Child Protection strategy discussions to agree any actions/progression under s5 procedures
• To provide advice and guidance to Children’s Services, employers, Providers and other relevant stakeholders and chair Initial Enquiries Meetings in response to s5 threshold enquiries
• Quality assurance of reports/chronologies including evaluating evidence to ensure efficacy of investigations to enable robust and timely Professional Strategy Meetings – taking forward actions to address any shortfalls in consultation with the Service Manager
• Management of Grade 8 social worker, providing monthly supervisions and annual reviews and including performance management
• To provide guidance and oversee Business Support activity within the team including tracking arrangements to ensure the timely progression of PCT cases
• Team audits as per departmental policy
• Alongside the Service Manager, to develop briefings, guidance and presentations to promote understanding of s5 – managing allegations/concerns about practitioners and those in positions of trust- across Children’s Services and other Directorates, Providers and Safeguarding Partners
• To deputise for the Service Manager as required
