This role would suit an experienced Social Worker looking to work alongside Adults with a complexity of needs related to their Learning Disability/Autism, Mental or Physical Health or a combination of all the above. The successful candidate would have a real interest in relationship-based social work, with a focus on building independence through a positive approach to risk and the strengths-based model.
This role will work closely with adults placed in residential and supported living accommodation along with providers.
This role sits within our Countywide team based in Colchester however please be advised that Countywide travel is part of this role.

About You
To apply you should be a qualified social worker with a current Social Work England registration. You’ll bring at least 2 year’s social work experience, evidence of continuing professional development, and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
There is a need for attention to detail and positive knowledge of not only the Care Act and Mental Health Act, but also the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty and Court of Protection procedures.
The postholder will be confident in person-centred and positive risk-taking approaches.
This role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.
Please note that Essex County Council has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and where a worker elects to provide their services through an intermediary (such as a personal services company) then income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service.
In line with government legislation, all colleagues who work in a CQC registered care home or will need to attend such a setting as part of their role must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This role has been deemed in scope of this legislation and therefore to be considered for the role you must confirm on application you are fully vaccinated or will be fully vaccinated by November 11th 2021, or that you are exempt. Evidence of vaccination or exemption will be required as part of the pre-employment checks ECC will undertake on you.
