Would suit an experienced Social Worker who knows our computer system (Mosaic), can work at a fast pace as the volume of incoming work is high and appropriately make decisions on Safeguarding concerns.
Office and Home-based non-client facing Safeguarding Lead Social Worker role within the Adult Social Care Contact Team (Ageing Well Southwark).
This role is within the front door service to accessing the Social Work and Occupational Therapy functions of Adult Social Care.
All referrals are received through this point, a telephone screening is completed and the person is either signposted to community services and agencies or progressed through to an assessment by Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Assistant Practitioner.
The team is currently staffed by 11 Customer Support Officers (CSOs) undertaking the above tasks, 2 Occupational Therapists completing initial phone assessments, 1 Social Work Deputy Team Managers, 1 Occupational Therapist Senior Practitioner and a Team Manager. This recruitment is aimed at adding a Social Worker into the above team.
The role is is a non-client facing role consisting of a mixture of home based and office based working. The office is at the Southwark Resource Centre (Hitard Court, 10 Bradenham Cl, London SE17 2QB)
The main duty of the role involves:
- Reviewing incoming referrals / notifications which have the appearance of Safeguarding
- Cross checking with current electronic notes systems for background information
- Making a decision on whether to progress to Social Worker allocation within our Assessment and Intake team for further information gathering, priority referral into Urgent Response or signposting as indicated to other Services within Health, Housing etc.
