We are looking for a registered experienced Social Worker to join the long established Halton Mental Health Social Work Service.
The Social Work Service comprises of one overall team that has Social Workers within the Later Life and Memory Service and the Recovery Team, providing a social work service to adults across Halton. The team is one of the central components of a wider mental health service that is committed to working with partners to deliver a strengths based/recovery approach within mental health services.
The core operational Hours are between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility to allow greater access to meet service user & carer needs and also supporting greater work life balance.

We are looking for a suitably qualified registered Social Worker who must have proven knowledge, experience and skills of practising in a mental health setting and in supporting people with mental health conditions.
Ideally you will be an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) and or are already progressed and are fully committed to undertake the training to become an AMHP once appointed. (The AMHP role attracts a higher salary).
You will have knowledge of and understand legal frameworks, social policy that enshrines social work practice in mental health services, and will understand and be committed to the processes that lead to individual recovery in mental health.
You will be an enthusiastic team player who is fully committed about working as part of an inter-agency practice across health and social care.
You will fully understand the principles and processes of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Care Programme Approach and be experienced and skilled in risk assessment and risk management.
You will have a strong personal commitment to anti-oppressive practice and be able to demonstrate this through your daily practice.
