Discipline

• Day to Day lead on intake and initial assessments and the Team Duty System, managing the response to queries, referrals and emergency situations.
• Supporting practice under the Care Act and ensuring initial assessments are compliant with the Care Act.
• Supporting the teams Social Care and Health Service Performance Management structures.
• Giving Professional and Managerial Supervision and guidance to Social Care staff who are identified as supervisees.
• Supporting the Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager with the management of Safeguarding, particularly when identified through referrals to the duty system.
• Supervise staff when on the duty rota supporting with the intake of work and providing advice and guidance to staff.
• Supervise the team administer who will be supporting the duty system.
• Ensuring a robust system for the management of referrals.
• Provide knowledge of all relevant legislation and support others in understanding legal obligations for the benefit of the team
• Support the Team Manager in ensuring team knowledge of Capacity, Best Interest, and Consent to Treatment and Deprivation of Liberty (Liberty Protection Safeguards).
• Develop constructive working relationships with other teams in Adult Social Care including First Response, Provider Services, the Community Hub Corporate and Support Services as well as senior managers.
• Develop constructive and robust relationships with colleagues in Independent and Voluntary Sector locally, ensuring good knowledge of local resources and available mainstream options.
• To promote quality in professional practice at all times.
• To promote evidence based practice in relation to all aspects of working with People with Learning Disabilities and Autism and related conditions.
• To promote a person – centred, strengths based approach in working with Customers and Carers and encourage staff / colleagues to recognising the unique experience and expertise that Persons with lived experience and Carers contribute.
• To carry out all statutory and professional duties of a qualified social worker.
• Work with Social Workers within the team to develop their Professional Capabilities.
• Support and guide Continuing Professional Development.
• The post holder will be undertaking lone working as part of their duties.
