We are looking for a child focused and relationship based Senior Social Worker to work with young people .
We are seeking a reliable, organised and compassionate social worker to empower our children to reach their goals.
You will be expected to be proficient in safeguarding and contextual safeguarding, able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service and write well in co production with young people in our care.
16 plus service has a dynamic workforce, with 6 teams headed by Experienced Team Managers. We care and support children looked after from the age of 16 up to 25 years as care leavers. We have amazing resources such as clinicians attached to our service, with 6 Experienced Practioner's who specialise in Housing, Substance Misuse, Social Capital, Education, Employment and Training, Youth Work and Young Mothers. Each team has a strong identity. Team members are collectively compassionate about being corporate caring parents, supporting young adults grow and to be the best version of themselves.
The post holder is likely to work with approximately 15 young people in our care at any one time .

- To hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with the General Social Care Council
- Experience of assessments and childcare planning for children identified as vulnerable and in need
- Experience of completing assessments and reports that identifies vulnerable children in need, children who need protection and safeguarding, including unborn children.
- Experience of planning for children becoming looked including the use of a range of statutory powers and the courts
- Experience of working with and engaging Young People / Children with Special or Additional Needs
- Experience of working, in partnership with parents, extended families and those representing them
- Experience of using electronic children’s records and maintaining service user information systems
- Experience of working in a front line Referral and Assessment Duty Service.
- Experience of delivering quality assessments and services to children and their families from different ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds
