Senior Social Worker - Children's Safeguarding

Salary £34 - £38 per hour
To work as part of the Safeguarding Hub, responding to initial enquiries / concerns that require a social work response. The post holder will make decisions on children whose identified needs are increasingly complex, who are at risk of experiencing harm and who have acute needs that require statutory, specialist input and support. They will play a key role in supporting colleagues and partners in promoting high standards of practice.

1 To work as part of a multi-disciplinary Safeguarding Hub liaising closely with others in planning, arranging and coordinating services in order to identify the most appropriate response to the concerns within statutory timescales.

2 To oversee and make decisions on child protection issues / concerns within SAPH.

3 To work within agreed Children and Young People’s Support and Safeguarding Service policies and procedures in assessing and meeting the needs of children, young people and their carers.

4 To contribute to the development of practice, skills and knowledge in the team (and wider service) through coaching and training, contributing to team meetings and leading on the dissemination and understanding of policies, procedures and research.

5 To support the Operational Team Managers in developing and embedding quality assurance processes and mechanisms to address and improve performance.

6 To supervise, social work students and staff who are not qualified Social Workers.

7 To offer professional guidance and support within the team and to partner agencies.

8 To attend management meetings / forums as directed by the Operational Team Manager.
