SEN Learning Support Assistant – Newham


Are you an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant looking for a new exciting challenge within a SEN Secondary School?


A client of ours are seeking a gifted SEN Learning support assistant to join their fabulous team.

  • Full-Time, Long term contract – potential permanent placement
About the SEN Learning Support Assistant Position;


You will be required to work in close collaboration with the class teacher, SENCo, any specialist working with the child and the child’s parents/carers to ensure that the requirements of the child’s EHCP are met. Establish positive relationships with the pupils and support the pupils with activities which support literacy and numeracy skills. Support the use of ICT in the classroom and develop pupil’s competence and independence in its use, maintain high expectations for the pupils being supported. Ensure that they are fully aware of the pupil’s/pupils’ strengths, difficulties and barriers to learning and that the pupils being supported have full access to learning opportunities as appropriate.


About the SEN School:

Located in Newham this special school caters to students aged between 11-16 years old who have varied levels of Autism, social communication difficulties, speech and language needs and complex learning difficulties with associated behaviours. The school have extremely high expectations of students to ensure everyone achieves their full potential. While sharing an ethos to encourage all pupils to develop their aspirations while providing a structured curriculum that helps them to be the best they can be.
