Salary £25 - £29 per hour
To take overall responsibility for managing all aspects of Residential, Interim
and Health care for frail older people, meeting the individual needs of
residents who require care 24 hours a day.
2. To work collaboratively with Health and Council colleagues to provide
services that respond to the health and social care needs of residents. This
will include direct liaison with GP’s and psychiatric services as appropriate.
3. To ensure consistent delivery of high quality professional standards of care
which are appropriately reviewed and monitored
4. To promote a positive and valued approach to service users and to embrace
the prevailing philosophy of care when monitoring and evaluating the quality
of service provision.
5. To ensure effective support and liaison with relatives, advocates and friends
of residents of the Home, promoting the continuity of family and community
involvement e.g. Church and faith visits.
6. To take a proactive role in monitoring the experiences, of service users and
where appropriate, to request re-assessments of packages of nursing care
within a person centred approach.
7. To be responsible for ensuring that care plans and reviews for residents are in
place in accordance with departmental instructions and relevant legislation.
This will include the writing of reports and completion of records.
8. To have delegated authority for and to operate within the establishment’s
allocated budget.
9. To ensure effective deployment of staff through creative use and regular
review of rosters.
10.To offer advice, support and regular performance/supervision to the staff in
matters relating to all aspects of quality service delivery.
11.To ensure that staff training and development needs are identified and that by
in-house or external input, staff are motivated to enable them to contribute to
the job purpose effectively, and any shortfalls in performance are identified
and corrected. This includes NVQ at all levels.

13.To recruit and retain staff within delegated authorities, ensuring Council Policy
is followed at all times.
