Dudley MBC has 2 exciting opportunities to join the commissioning team driving up quality standards for people with disabilities.
12 month fixed term vacancies for Quality and Safety Officers with particular focus on adult social care services for people with disabilities .
Role Requirements :
• To ensure that the quality of social care services provided to the citizens of Dudley are appropriate, safe and consistent and that the terms and conditions of the Council’s contracts are being upheld
• To be involved as appropriate in the ongoing development of the commissioning activity through support with business planning, action planning, engagement
• To facilitate and enable providers of services in the development and implementation of Quality Assurance, Quality Standard, Quality of Life and other systems and their continued monitoring to accord with contract requirements.
• To be responsible for the development and maintenance of recording systems for all aspects of monitoring and inspection.
• To prepare reports and make recommendations to the Commissioning Officer and senior managers of the Directorate, with reference to all aspects of contract compliance
• To attend meetings relevant to the scope of the post as required either face to face or via technology in virtual meetings – using MS Teams /Skype/ Zoom
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience ( bold are essential criteria) :
• Good knowledge and understanding of statutory adult social care and health care organisations
• Professional qualification in Health and/or Social Care e.g. Dip SW, Diploma in Domiciliary Care Management, NVQ level 4 or equivalent
• Experience of managing services for people with learning disabilities, autism and or Mental Health issues is essential
• To be familiar national policy, practice, standards and guidance in relation to :
o Supporting people with Learning Disabilities
o Supporting people with Autism
o Supporting people with Mental Health issues
o Disability awareness
• Well developed written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
• Experienced and competent in working with different electronic / digital systems for example MS Office applications word , excel etc email , MS Teams , web based platforms
• Ability to work with complex data and present information professionally and concisely
• Ability to travel within the borough of Dudley to undertake quality assurance audits and attend meetings
• Experience of working alongside other agencies to undertake multi-agency work.
• Understanding of the statutory frameworks that underpin adult social care such as Care Act 2014, Health and Social Care act & regulations / CQC standards.
Key tasks within the role are:
1. Monitoring and inspecting all aspects of contract compliance in relation to Contracts/Agreements issued by the Directorates of Adult Services to providers of services.
2. Gathering information and analysing information from a range of sources to measure compliance with standards of care and support
3. Supporting all aspects of the work of the Commissioning Officers and Commissioning team as may be directed and required .
