Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations for new inmates

  • Administer medication, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed by the facility’s physician

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to develop comprehensive care plans

  • Assist and provide ongoing support for inmates with chronic conditions, such as hypertension or diabetes

  • Identify and respond to emergent situations, including injuries, illnesses, or mental health crises

  • Provide education and counselling for public health issues, such as sexually transmitted infections and substance abuse

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within electronic health records.

Requirements:

  • Active RN or RMN licensure with the [Country/State] Board of Nursing

  • A degree in nursing from an accredited institution
