This is a full time Practice Supervisor role for the Children with Disabilities or Complex Health Needs Teams.
This is a non case holding role to work with the guidance of the Team Managers and to provide support to social workers and drive up the standards of social work practice across the two social work teams, with particular focus on supporting ASYE's
Main duties include;
Practice focus tasks:
• Deliver supervision session once per month based around the practice focus month, or a subject which managers have agreed needs covering.
• Complete the mandatory training for that month.
• Deliver 1:1 practice sessions with all social workers
• Dip sample audit cases for each worker in advance of 1:1 sessions.
• Support social workers in their ASYE to understand and complete their first year of employment.
• Regularly meet and discuss portfolio/practice requirements and required evidence
• Support ASYE to meet their KSS/PCF standards and ensure they are attending workshops as required throughout the year.
• Attend ASYE supervision set by Team Manager before each review
• Arrange and prepare for 3, 6. 9 and 12 month reviews
• Complete reports for each review
• Set and attend the ASYE review meeting
• Direct observations of practice
• Liaise with ASYE lead and arrange meetings if required to discuss any presenting issues
• Attend ASYE progression panel
- Attend weekly management meetings
- Contribute to service improvement and participation in various meetings to support practice development
