Placements Officer

Location Dudley
Salary £13 - £15 per hour
We are looking for candidates who are:
  • Driven, hardworking and can use their own initiative
  • Can quickly build rapport with people over the phone and face to face
  • Have a passion for doing a role that improves children and young peoples lives
The main function of the job is to help and support placement searches for children and young people who are looked after or care leavers.
This is in order to find the best placement for them to live.

The role involves:
  • Liaison with social work teams to identify and understand the child’s needs to help support finding the best placement option for them
  • Building relationships and rapport with internal and external providers of placements to help identify placement options to best meet our children’s needs
  • Negotiation with providers on a range of issues like notice periods and placement costs
  • Being personable and being able to advocate for our children with providers to help identify placements that meet our children’s needs
  • Being determined and tireless in ringing round and contacting providers to help identify the right placement for our children and young people to live 
  • he use of IT systems and an online portal to help record and search for placements
