Operations Manager - Youth Offending Service

Location Brentwood
Salary £21 - £28 per hour
Oversight of day to day running of the YOS
Oversight of court / bail and remand
Managing three team managers
Attending and chairing multi-agency meetings
Relationship building with other service areas across the Council and with wider partners.
Recruitment and oversight of staffing and workforce development
  1. Make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service, this will include working flexibly and positively to achieve the objectives of the Council.
  1. Manage and lead staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability.

  1. Manage a customer focused service and the effective use of resources.

  1. Ensure that the council’s overall vision, values and ethos are central to the requirements of the service.

  1. Support effective working relationships and act as an ambassador and advocate with external organisations.

  1. Approve appropriate operational expenditure assist with budget management.

  1. Keep up to date with developments in service delivery and best practice to ensure the service performs effectively and to the highest standards.

  1. Carry out duties with due regard to the council’s customer care, equal opportunities, information governance, data protection and health and safety policies and procedures.
  1. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of this post.

10. To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring that services are delivered to the highest professional standards, meet key measurable objectives and operate within clear and up to date operational policies.
