Overall Purpose: To provide a comprehensive clinical led occupational health service to all council employees including school based employees. This will cover assisting the council in managing attendance, carrying out management referrals, pre placement assessments; undertaking health surveillance; developing health screening programmes; health promotion activities; training and general guidance on occupational health matters.

Overall Purpose: To provide a comprehensive clinical led occupational health service to all council employees including school based employees. This will cover assisting the council in managing attendance, carrying out management referrals, pre placement assessments; undertaking health surveillance; developing health screening programmes; health promotion activities; training and general guidance on occupational health matters.
Provide advice and guidance on occupational health matters. |
Assist the council in managing attendance at work. |
Promote and support employee’s wellbeing with proactive measures. |
To effectively manage a demanding complex caseload and ensure referrals are progressed in a prompt and efficient manner. |
Assessment of complex pre placement health and medical forms, face to face, telephone and paper based. |
Coordinates the health surveillance programme; including independently performing the assessments, analyzing the results and appropriate feedback to managers i.e. Audiometry, skin assessments etc. |
Correlate anonymous statistical data on the health surveillance results to identify any areas of concern and report these to the OH Manager/Senior OH Specialist Practitioner. |
Liaise and work closely with Human Resources and Safety Services in developing and promoting employee wellbeing. |
Promote partnership working by developing links with general practitioners and other appropriate agencies. |
Work with Safety Services in the undertaking of health related workplace assessments. |
Assist in the development and promotion of Policy, OH Procedures and guidance. |
Assist in the development of Occupational Health Intranet. |
Undertake project work as required and directed by the Occupational Health Manager. |
In this role you are required to speak English with sufficient fluency to effectively perform your duties, as required by Section 42 of the Immigration Act 2016. |
