Day Webster are currently recruiting for a Locum Band 4 Pharmacy Technician on behalf of our NHS Client in the East Midlands.  The assignment will be starting ASAP full-time (37.5 hours pw) and will be ongoing.  Each week will include a rotation of shifts including 07:00-15:00 & 13:00-20:00 Monday – Friday + the option of ad hoc weekends as required. 

Brief description of duties:

-          Complete all monitoring tasks at the relevant time points (as per daily check sheet)
-          Complete any daily tasks assigned e.g. wipe down of all surfaces (as per daily check sheet)
-          Undertake daily stock take (check physical stock against Emis stock and resolve any discrepancies)
-          Receive vaccine and consumable  stock using Pharmacy Emis system
-          Enter new vaccine batch numbers on to the Pinnacle system
-          Issue and return vaccine stock each day to Pod A and Pod B using pharmacy Emis system
-          Ensure all remaining vaccine stock from both Pod fridges is returned to stock on the pharmacy Emis system at the end of each day 
-          Physically transfer vaccine stock to and from pharmacy store fridge to Pod A and B fridges (issue enough stock to each Pod in the morning and return any unused stock at the end of the day)
-          Ensure stock is locked away in each fridge
-          Set up trays with the adequate number of syringes and alcohol swabs (8 or 10 depending on vaccine stock) and place one vaccine vial in each tray (only issue quantities of stock that will be used before the assigned room temperature expiry – 6 hours)
-          Transfer all set up trays to the vaccine collection area (no more than 10 trays on the bench at once)
-          Complete the vaccine logs and ensure the written balance corresponds with the number of vaccines on the collection bench
-          Ensure vaccinators complete the vaccine reconciliation logs when returning used vials for destruction
-          Reconcile and destroy used vaccine vials in both pods periodically throughout the day
-          Reconcile the previous days vaccination usage and return this figure to the vaccine operations team before mid-day, each day. This should include: reconciliation of the number of vials issued, the total number of vaccinations given, the number of vaccinations wasted and the reasons for waste
