My client is currently looking for a Food Service Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis for the non-profit organisation.
Your daily duties will include but not limited to -
Prepare drinks, rolls, sandwiches, panini etc as requested by customers.
Set up the café at the beginning of shift, ensuring all cutlery and condiments are in place and the service area clean and tidy.
Liaise with the Kitchen and Children and Family Work staff to inform them of any orders made by customers or inform them if any products are running low.
Check the float daily before use; cash up at the end of shift, reconcile income with the cash registers and ensure security of income; follow YMCA Cash Handling Policy.
Work effectively when alone or with others, to maximise sales and customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate receipting and accounting of all monies and credit transactions taken whilst on duty.
Set up functions and conferences to meet the requirements provided by line manager, in a presentable fashion.
Display all food and beverages in a neat and appealing way at the service counter.
Ensure the café is set up at the beginning of each shift, ensuring all cutlery and condiments are in place and the serving area is clean and tidy.
Ensure that the café area is tidy at all times.
Ensure all tables in the restaurant are cleaned and all chairs neatly placed around them.
Sweep and mop floors in service area at the end of a shift.
Undertake specific cleaning duties as determined by the cleaning rota.
Be knowledgeable about the food and beverages we sell, including any items containing common allergens.
Serve customers in the café politely and efficiently.
Serve customers at their tables, being aware of those who may require assistance.
Working with the Children and Family Work staff to ensure food is served in childcare areas promptly and efficiently.
Serve drinks from the bar, provide information on drinks available.
Undertake all duties with regard to the Association’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy and other policies and procedures adopted by the Association.
Respect the Christian ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values.
Undertake other duties as requested by line manager.
This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week working on a rota basis across 7 days, working early and late shifts.
