Community Support Worker (

Salary £9.76 - £11.96 per hour
Hours to be negotiated with manager, looking for 1/2 workers to split the hours. We have been allocated 30 hours which could be between 1 or 2 workers.
The staff will be required to work early shifts, starting at 8am until 2 or 3pm or later shifts starting between 2 and 4pm and finishing between 9 and 10pm.
The staff will be working alongside one of the service staff though they may work alone for short periods should one of the people we support be supported on any activity away from the home, this will be for up to an hour at present.
The staff will be providing support to 4 individuals who all have moderate to severe learning disabilities. The reason an additional staff is needed is because one of the individuals has an injury arm and requires more physical support and monitoring as he is at high risk of a fall and additional injury. An understanding of autism would be helpful.
The staff will be expected to support people with personal care ie showering and using the toilet.
Training in moving and handling is preferable as the individual who has an injury as some equipment he may need to use.
Training in administration of medication is preferable though it is anticipated that service staff will take the lead in this task and other health related tasks.
Staff will be required to undertake tasks related to the home – cleaning, meal preparation, assistance to eat and drink, shopping.
Staff will be required to complete service records and work withing policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and managing information.
Staff may be required if they work regular shifts to take people supported out for short walks or activities following guidance available in support plans.
Good communication skills would be preferred, to be able to engage with the people who live at the tenancy and undertake activities with them within the home.
Staff must be willing to work within the service's infection prevention and control procedures and wear suitable PPE throughout their shift.
Staff mist have had Covid-19 vaccination.
