Child Protection Advisor

Salary £43.00 - £45.50 per hour
The Children’s Safeguarding unit provides independent monitoring and advice in all areas of Children’s Safeguarding including Safeguarding in Educational Settings. The Children’s Safeguarding unit has specific responsibility for monitoring the performance of the child protection system including; running the child protection conferencing system, providing advice on child protection issues and developing policies, guidance and procedures. The Safeguarding unit runs an allegations management service, child death overview system, and provides direct support to all the activities of the West Sussex Local Safeguarding Children Board. To chair a wide range of conferences and meetings within the County relating to the protection of children and ensuring that there is safe child protection/safeguarding plans in place, which are regularly reviewed. Providing professional advice and consultation to a designated area and professionals, on issues such as specialist areas of risk to children. Contribute to policy and practice developments through direct involvement in Local Authority and Local Safeguarding Children Board agencies. The development and maintenance of quality standards in multi-agency child protection practice. Contributing to case reviews and reports when there have been serious incidents of harm to children.
