Position Overview: As a Care of the Elderly Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive medical care and support for elderly patients. Your expertise in geriatric medicine will contribute to enhancing the quality of life and well-being of elderly individuals under your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform geriatric assessments and comprehensive evaluations for elderly patients.
- Develop individualized care plans and coordinate multidisciplinary care for geriatric patients.
- Provide expert medical management and treatment for age-related conditions and complex health issues in the elderly.
- Work collaboratively with the geriatric team, including nurses, therapists, and social workers.
- Participate in ward rounds, case discussions, and departmental meetings.
- Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives within the geriatric department.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Medical degree and full registration with the UK Medical Board.
- Specialist certification in Care of the Elderly (Geriatrics).
- Previous experience as a Care of the Elderly Consultant with expertise in geriatric medicine.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in working with the elderly and their families.
