Adult social care connect is the front door team into Adult Services in Southampton City Council.
We are a busy duty team looking for three highly skilled and confident Social Workers to support the wider team at this particularly busy time.
Two of the Social Work roles are to support our safeguarding team in considering initial concerns and undertaking section 42 enquiries. We are looking for candidates who have Safeguarding and Learning disability experience to ensure we provide a personalised approach to safeguarding duties, considering the individuals needs as paramount.
The third role is to support residents of Southampton who Hoard. Therefore previous experience in this field would be desirable.
We expect our Social Workers to hold a small but complex caseload, which due to the nature of the front door work will change regularly.
We expect the Social Worker to work autonomously but recognise when they need management support and guidance.
Confidence in completing S42 duties is vital and recognising the six principles of safeguarding and implementing them within all aspects of their work.
The Hoarding Social Worker will need to be confident in the strength based approach and ensure they consider voluntary services in their approach in order to ensure we are supporting individuals holistically to promote wellbeing.
Ability to prioritise, work proactively and inline with The Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 is vital.
