Job Role:

Day Webster are looking for a experienced radiographer who will provide a high standard of radio graphic imaging whilst ensuring that patients receive high quality care.

Job Summary
To provide a high standard of radio graphic imaging whilst ensuring that patients receive high quality care. To deliver a high standard of service to relevant stakeholders and to a diversity of patient presentations. To communicate effectively with clinical, managerial administrative and ancillary staff in order to ensure a professional timely service. This post is based in Chelsea, Kensington and Chelsea. To prioritise and organise the workload in response to clinical need and service demands. The post holder will be required to take part in a shift system to provide a 24hr service and, when implemented, a seven day working week.

Responsibilities
To participate in the department Quality Assurance equipment testing programme.

· To use the Radiology Information System (RIS) for patient registration, X-ray ordering and scheduling. Recording accurate patient information relating to dose and use of consumables.

· To use the Picture Archive & Communication system (PACS) for reviewing images and reports.

· To provide support and reassurance to patients who may be terminally, chronically or acutely unwell or have barriers to understanding.

. · To develop a sound knowledge of the equipment used in order to be aware of malfunctions and errors and to report such to a Lead Radiographer.

· Required to work in the Emergency Department, Theatres, endoscopy, neonatal unit and intensive care.

· Required to work in CT, fluoroscopy and the non vascular interventional suite.

· To supervise the clinical work of students, assistants and support workers

 

· To liaise and work with a variety of health care professionals within the multi-disciplinary team.

· To be able to prioritise own workload particularly when undertaking duties outside of normal working hours and work under own initiative.

· To assess complex acute and other patient conditions (e.g. multiple trauma) · To perform clerical and other duties, which may be delegated by a senior member of staff.

· To follow department’s risk management programme and safe systems of work.

· To deliver a service to patients with a variety of presentations including the unconscious, uncooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, disorientated, with physical and mental disabilities and to those exhibiting anti-social or threatening behaviour.

· To work within the society of Radiographers Professional Code of Conduct and Radiology and Trust policies and procedures including health and safety and risk management.

· Participates in Trust appraisal programme ‘Values in Action’ and works towards addressing own developmental needs.
